The 27th Spectrum Seminar 2011 was a grand success April 13-15, 2011 in Charlotte, NC at the Hilton Charlotte Center City in Charlotte, NC. Many thanks to all of our guests who made the networking and educational experience truly enriching for all of us. For those of you who were unable to attend, here are some highlights from the Seminar:

The theme was Re-Think; Re-Connect. The emphasis was on innovation of products and services to assure the long term sustainability of the CCRC and on immediate remedies to the challenging occupancy and sales environment we all face.

We hosted 207 participants from 59 CCRC’s and sponsoring organizations, and 48 professional partner-organizations.

Two intensive half-day forums were offered: The Leadership Forum for senior management of provider communities; and the Marketing Forum for marketing professionals.

Spectrum and outside speakers offered 16 Sessions represented by 36 speakers generating 2,489 great new ideas!

Mr. Cliff Cameron and Mr. Tom Storrs (represented by Mrs. Kitty Storrs) were present and honored for their steward-driven leadership to Southminster (a not-for-profit CCRC in Charlotte) as well as to the development of downtown Charlotte for the past 3 decades. Spectrum presented a Carolina landscape created by artist Kurt Butler to Southminster’s Chair, Mr. Skip Gribble, in honor of Mr. Storrs and Mr. Cameron.

Mr. Jim Remley, who recently retired from Spectrum as Regional Sales and Marketing Director, was honored for his service to the CCRC industry and Spectrum.

Participants were treated to the many cultural and entertainment opportunities in the glistening new Charlotte uptown district to include a special evening at the world-renowned Craft+Design Mint Museum of American and Contemporary collections.
